All of our tours meet at our office, which is directly across from the outside cafe area of the Palau de la Musica. We advise that you arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts.

Depending on the size of the group and the traffic restrictions on the day of the tour, your tour will finish back at the office, or in Placa Catalunya, which is an easy 3-5 minute walk from the office.

Put on warm clothes and sturdy walking shoes, and meet your guide and the rest of your small group in central Barcelona. Hop inside your air-conditioned minivan and journey into the countryside on route to the Pyrenees.

As you travel, hear tales of the region’s history from your guide and pass Montseny Natural Park, a protected region of mountains, forests and high moors.

After roughly an hour, make your first stop in the quaint market town of Vic. Enjoy free time for breakfast (own expense) or to explore the medieval center, with its picturesque market square, cathedral and Romanesque and neoclassical buildings.

Back aboard your minivan, continue to the stone-built mountain village of Queralbs; the last point on your route accessible by road. Leave the minivan, and accompanied by your guide, ride the rack railway up to the Nuria Valley. Home to a lake and bright green pastures ringed by high peaks, this picturebook valley is one of the most beautiful in the Pyrenees.

Admire the scenery from the train, and on arrival, enjoy several hours to explore as you wish. Perhaps follow your choice of the hiking trails suitable for different fitness levels, such as the paths up to the Valley Coma de Vaca. Although a good physical fitness is not a prerequisite of this tour, a reasonable level is required if you wish to take the Coma de Vaca trails.

Alternatively, take your pick from the local activities (own expense) such as horseriding or boating, or enjoy a meal (own expense) at one of the traditional Catalan restaurants. See the Itinerary for details of the activities available.

When the time comes, return to Barcelona where your trip ends at the start point. 

Please note: Annual track maintenance on the rack railway from Queralbs means that the line is closed between Mondays and Fridays from November 1 to November 30. On these days, the tour will run to an alternative itinerary that involves accessing the mountain valleys by road or hiking at a lower height. These changes will in no way take away from your Pyrenees experience.

4.00pm - This tiny mountain village has a population of only 200 permanent residents living in a rambling collection of traditionally built stone houses. Perched on the side of the mountain, this impossibly quaint, picture postcard beautiful hamlet is one of the most memorable parts of the day. Here, you will also be able to see the Church of Sant Sadurní de Fustanyá, built from stones so perfectly-hewn that legend says it was built by the fairies and witches said to inhabit the surrounding caves. After an hour or so, we will head back to the bus and begin our journey back to Barcelona.

The tour was really good. My only comment is that if you’re doing this tour for the mountains, we only got about 1.5 hours of free time in the mountains which wasn’t long enough to complete any of the hikes which was a shame. But otherwise it was really good

A wonderful experience, its like slowly traveling to the past, visiting older and older towns. Although it's not just quaint towns, there are also beautiful landscapes, mesmerising views that make it worth it and entice you to get back. Additionally, Arnaud was a very nice guide, very knowledgeable about the places, the history and is always interested in you enjoying the tour. Definitely recommended!

Terrific day trip out of Barcelona. Got lucky with market day (Saturday) in Vic then onto Nuria and a smaller little down near it. Our guide Stephen was friendly and knowledgeable, offering great stories along the way and answering our questions. The valley of Nuria is beautiful, as is the train ride up. Bring layers, it's a bit cooler than back in town. Well worth the trip though! (Pro-tip our guide gave us, get food in Vic to take up. The onsite food in the valley itself is meh.)

Beautiful sites and a wonderful tour guide

We booked this trip based on the online reviews. While we spent most of our week in Spain handling our own travel arrangements, we are so glad we booked a tour for our Pyrenees experience because we had a wonderful guide. Arnau took our family of four and one other couple out on the excursion, and he was warm and welcoming, offering us lots of information on the drive out of Barcelona. During our first stop in Vic and our third stop in the Nuria Valley, Arnau provided the perfect balance of providing friendly and knowledgable information about the locations while also offering us free time to explore on our own. In the second stop of Queralbs, he took us inside the beautiful, old church and walked us through the old, cobbled streets. The sites we saw were beautiful (we especially enjoyed taking the cable car in the Nuria Valley for stunning mountain views), and Arnau was a wonderful guide from start to finish. He even gave us a superb dinner recommendation as we were heading back into Barcelona that led us to our best meal of the entire week. Thank you, Arnau, for a special day!

Beautiful Pyrenees Mountains

For this tour we decided on the small group, because we thought it would be nice to meet other families. We got to the mutual pick up and we were met with Geordi our tour guide and a family of 3 just like us. We all got into a roomy van and headed towards a small town, on the way to the Pyrenees mountains. Geordi walked us around the small town, telling us the history and then gave both families time to explore. We were given a time to meet. There were several meat shops with an assortment of meats and several pastry shops. Unfortunately it was cold and raining so it was hard to enjoy. We all ended up in a small cafe getting hot coffee. Our next stop was a train to take us up the Pyrenees mountains to one of the many ski resorts in the pyrenees mountains. We drove past beautiful scenery before getting to the train.. It was a bit cloudy, but still magnificent. The train ride was quick and before we knew it, we were at the ski resort. We were given time to explore and grab lunch. The snow capped mountains were spectacular. There was a tram that went up the mountain, but we chose not to take it. Geordi was super nice and a great tour guide!!

The trip is awesome and our guide Sergio was very good. Unfortunately we couldn't go up to Valle de Nuria due to bad weather conditions, but we did a hike on the foothills instead and it was amazing anyway!

Don't go to the 3 countries in a day

I was switched over to the 3 countries in a day. The driver was great but the tour was not great. We went to medieval town called Bega and it was not interesting at all, then went to the spa town of Ax Les Thermes and that was the highlight. Cool town nice walks... Andorra is a compete waste of time. Not enough time and all it was a strip mall at the end of a bunch of ski resorts. You one and half hour and that was barely to have lunch and walk 3-4 blocks.. But we did waste 30 minutes at a place to get a drink in a town that was on our way back. It is it worth the 12 hours. To spend 3 1/2 to run and gun...

During this trip I kept commenting on how much it completely exceeded my expectations! The old towns, the train ride, the beautiful mountains. Wonderful. Gloria, our guide made this such a fun and informative experience! When my son accidentally left a bag behind at a stop she was able to contact someone and got the bag back for us. She was a total pro! Our driver, Pedro was great as well.

Anna was an amazing guide. This was a great day - the towns we visited were charming and the Pyrenees are absolutely gorgeous. Anna gave us tons of insight and was very knowledgeable. The guide could be better thats why I did not give five stars. My rating is for the venue and sightseeing. Pablo was our guide and he thought he was being funny but he was not, it was getting annoying by the end of the day.

It was a beautiful trip from start to finish, hot, sunny day. The tour guide Sergio was very informative and interactive with the group, very attentive to our needs. Such beautiful scenery and really enjoyed the medieval towns we stopped in, entered a church that was from the 10th/12th century, it was amazing.

First, this day trip is long, but sooo worth it! So if you're on the fence, just do it. You won't regret it, especially if the majority of your time is in Barcelona as this is a nice contrast to the crazy city. You go through older and much more quaint/small towns and you get a couple hours to hike the beautiful Pyrenees mountains after a short train ride up to them. It's awesome. But more so than that, our tour guide Sergio was seriously next level! You can tell this is someone who thoroughly enjoys their job and meeting new people. He made certain every single aspect of our trip was enjoyed. My wife gets a little motion sickness and he constantly was checking in with her to make sure she was ok. An old lady on our tour lost her phone, he called it, found it, then sprinted back to the bar where she left while our bus driver did a quick loop of the town, then he hopped back on. During our train ride, he was running up and down the train to tell everyone when we were about to come to good views and on what side of the train, so we could have our cameras ready. Nothing about our tour felt like a script he was trying to get through. He seriously took this trip from an 8.0 to a 10.0 for everyone in our group.

So the actual place we went to was AMAZING!!!!!! all three are absolutely stunning and I was in awe of how beautiful the scenery was. Our tour guide Matthias however was not good. At all. He had no history information and the only thing he really pointed out was where the plastic water bottles were made and where the train stations are. No one cares. If you do this trip id recommend going with another tour group! It's so stunning you can't miss out. I'd recommend WE tour group. Thanks for the trip but I wouldn't go with the group I did again.
