My husband treated me to a romantic getaway, and the wine train was absolutely fabulous! Would do it again.

Great vineyard. Mediocre train

Very organized and scheduled well. The bus tour guide is very informative. The vineyards are beautiful and the wine tastings are great on foot. Once you’re on the train they charge you for wine and the meals are not up to par. For $350 I expect more. Regardless it was a great experience

Napa Wine Train

The wine train was a fantastic trip. The only disappointment was that we only found out that the train journey for our particular vineyard (Raymond) was only one way once we had arrived at the train station. We were taken by coach to the vineyard and returned on the train. That said the tour of the vineyard was excellent, the host was very knowledgeable and there was plenty of wine to drink. The meal on the train back was superb and we enjoyed a bottle of wine that we had purchased at the vineyard. The other niggle was at the ferry port on the way out from San Fran, there was no organisation that made it obvious where to go, the ferry conductor was very helpful and was happy for us to use our printed itinerary as the ticket for the ferry. Superb overall.

We had the greatest tour guide ever ! I highly recommend this tour ❤️ I can’t remember her name but she was an African American woman with dreadlocks 😍 Extremely knowledgeable and well spoken ❤️ I can’t wait to return in the summer

Too much waiting around

Sitting around the train station both coming and going to the winery took up more time than the tour of the winery. Lunch on the train was fine but rushed. This time( our second) was not as good a tour of the winery and the guide spent the most time trying to sell wine rather than give an informative tour....kind of sad.

We had a blast! Every single part of this tour was amazing. We took a ferry from San Francisco, and then were picked up in a beautiful luxury van for the trip to the train station. Our driver showed us some of the sites, and when we arrived at the train station, we checked in with the extremely friendly staff, and had a beautiful, comfortable and roomy lounge to wait for our train. Being from the east coast, we aren't used to such unending courtesy, but it felt wonderful! The train is magnificently restored, and beautiful, so our ride was wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was too, and our Ambassador tour gave us a tasting at two wineries. We toured Krug and Raymond, which was a great choice since it gave us the historic and the modern, and we had a blast. Plus, tasting all that wine didn't hurt, but this was a beautiful day, and we were treated so wonderfully, like were were old friends coming for a visit. This is a must do and we had a great time!

From start to finish an amazing tour. Very informative, the bus over from San Francisco gave us a look at the area before arriving at the train station, the train is lovely, the food was delicious and the Grgich wine vineyard tour was top notch. Would do this again!

The core part of the tour which was the Vineyard tour and the Train tour was wonderful. The transportation to Napa and the transportation back to San Francisco was confusing because of the Holiday. The problems were due to the fact that this tour was on a Holiday Monday. Our written instructions differed from the way it actually went because the Ferry schedules were on Holiday hours, but virtually nobody on the tour knew that. In fact, we nearly missed the last Ferry to SF at the end of the tour because our bus driver gave us the wrong departure time. Only by observation and word of mouth kept us from being stranded in in Vallejo. The to/from SF logistics for Holidays need some work! Take this tour on a regular day and you will probably be fine.

This was a good trip but not one that I would recommend. We waited at the Napa train for 1 1/2 hours after our train ride and tour of Raymond vineyards. The tour and tasting was informative. At the station we asked repeatedly if we could access the shuttle to the ferry earlier because we did not want to shop in Vallejo which is a small town. We were told we had to wait until other tours arrived. About 15 minutes before the 4:00PM scheduled shuttle departure I went outside and saw the shuttle. About 5 minutes later one of the reservation persons came out and said there are no other guests and we could have left earlier. The shuttle attendant had been there for over an hour! Certainly not well coordinated. The train ride was fine. Food excellent. Just a lot of ferrying, shuttling, waiting. I think a bus tour would have been easier and a more efficient way to accomplish this tour.

I agree with the last post. I wouldn't recommend this tour either! - the directions on where to find the Buss on pier were rediculios. People where wondering around trying to find information out where to catch the bus as the direction we're not clear. When we called the information number they too really didn't have clear directions for us, it was very stressful!!! For the price we paid Canadian we felt ripped off for what we got. The meal was just okay nothing special. I definely would not recommend this train your! Ottawa, Canada

Overall we enjoyed the wine train experience, but be prepared to do a lot of waiting around for things to happen if you are not arriving by car. This was nobody's fault really as we took the Ferry from San Francisco, as they only run at certain times and you certainly don't feel rushed. The other negative is there is not a lot to do in downtown Napa In between leaving the train and taking the shuttle back to Vajego ferry port. The train itself was great, as was the service and food. Enjoyed our winery stop as well and they were not stingy when it came to the tasting. Enjoyed the wine flight in the lounge car on return trip.

The day went well. Enjoyed the train and lunch and the visit to the winery was most informative. Travelling as a single I had no issues and everyone was friendly. I do recommend if you are in the area. A lovely day.

Traveling with my brother, his wife, and my sister, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Napa Valley on the Wine Train. The ferry ride was pleasant. The shuttle to the train station was very comfortable, the driver's narrative was informative and interesting. The wait for the train departure was fairly brief. Boarding was well orchestrated. The dining car was very nice, the tables were pretty close together, but the menu choices offered something for everyone. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We toured the Grgich Winery. Again, very pleasant, the guide was informative, and the history of the award winning winery interesting! Our tastings were a nice variety of wines. We enjoyed dessert after re-boarding the train. We had over an hour to wait for the return to the ferry, but enjoyed exploring the nearby Oxbow Market. It was a full day, but informative, well orchestrated and fun! A good way to see Napa and taste the wines!

Nice way to see Nappa Valley on the Antique train ride. Enjoyed the train and lunch. Would recommend seeing only one winery. We chose the 2 option, paying more, which did not allow enough time in either winery - Dissapointing

Was a very good tour! Never seemed rushed even though there was a set agenda. The Raymond Vineyard and gourmet lunch on the train was awesome!
